One day last spring, she shared the vision with me of sitting on a beach eating chocolate ice cream with chocolate syrup wearing our flip flops, swimsuits, and sunglasses. We tried to recreate it as best we could in the backyard.
I post this knowing that in mid January (my husband doesn't like to say that word) she is not the only one imagining warm fresh afternoons out in the 75 degree weather.
We have, however, had our share of chills and thrills this winter...

Another of Caroline's backyard plans-
A fun little hill at our

And finally, MOM'S MASTERPIECE!

That snow chair is impressive!
I am loving your winter fun, especially that mound/cave. Way to go Julia! No fancy snow sculptures two doors down. I read your Twilight blog. I am glad you enjoyed the books so much and I appreciated the insights into the writing. I can't wait for the next one!
You are such a great Mom. I can't get over my hatred of cold to enjoy the snow with my kids. Good thing their Dad likes playing in the snow. I'm with Caroline...some beach, somewhere!!!!
Oh, and you are now officially my Dad's best friend. I can't remember exactly, but you commented something about how young he looks. You made his day.
Looks like you're missing summer but still enjoying winter. Hope it's not treating you too bad. Love all the pictures, especially the sledding action shots. Do you have something other than dial-up now?
I love the pics Jules. The whole idea of Caroline's sounds good to me but here in Washington it is 45 degrees so I can't complain considering I left 15 below in Logan the week before.
I miss you all so much! The kids are so cute in those pictures!! The first one reminds me of the one I took when we lived there. -Sarah
Julia, that snow looks like so much fun. You should send Caroline to Arkansas, she would enjoy our warm summers here! :)
And I'm not sure how to change it from "Ryan" to "Jenny". Sorry. It's Jenny! :)
Great pictures! I think the snow in our backyard is still untouched, how sad is that.
